DIY Rejuvinating Eye Cream: Anti-Aging the Natural Way

Weather, hectic schedules, stress due to work or personal lives — these factors can do a number to your skin and can speed up the signs of premature aging.

The delicate skin around the eyes is often the first to show signs of aging. For many, eye cream is a necessary part of your skincare routine. There are countless eye creams on the market that are promoted as a “miracle worker,” but many are filled with unnecessary chemicals and fillers that can be too harsh on your skin, especially the sensitive area around the eyes (since that is the thinnest part of your skin.) With that said we have whipped up a all-natural DIY anti-aging eye cream that is packed with skin essentials that will help slow down the signs of aging and help firm and tighten the skin around your eyes all while doing it the natural way. No unnecessary harsh chemicals here!

Now let’s get down to beauty business.

First let’s discuss these action packed ingredients and why they are effective for anti-aging.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil has gained much popularity due to its many benefits for both skin and body. Pure virgin coconut oil liquefies when applied to the skin and quickly absorbs without clogging pores. This oil contains anti-inflammatory properties, and high levels of antioxidants that help protect the skin from fighting off free radicals that can damage skin cells that contribute to premature aging. Another amazing benefit this oil has to offer is it helps eliminate dead skin cells, which makes it easier for new skin to resurface leaving you with healthy younger skin. Coconut oil also promotes collagen and elastin production keeping skin tight and firm: really, coconut oil is great for you! I love using Extra Virgin Certified Organic Coconut Oil from Vitacost in a variety of our all-natural products.

Mango Butter

Mango butter is extracted from the kernels of the mango fruit. Mango butter is a tropical butter that has a similar composition to shea and cocoa; however, the fatty acid content is slightly different, which enhances the range of Natural EFAs (essential fatty acids), vitamins like A, C, E, folate “B-9.”Combined, these properties make mango butter a superfood for skin rejuvenation.  It has natural emollient properties, high oxidative ability, healing benefits and rejuvenating activity. It is said to prevent drying of the skin and formation of wrinkles. Mango butter helps protect against dry skin and improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and helps moisturize and restore skin elasticity. I absolutely love mango butter and even use it on my lips. It works wonders and you will fall head over heels for it. There are tons of reasons why mango butter is so great for your skin. I recommend trying Life-Flo Pure Mango Butter.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E, which is also known as tocopherol, vitamin E is particularly important to the skin. Since it is a natural antioxidant which is capable pf protecting skin cells from free radicals, helps prevent skin aging, diminish sun spots, help keeps skin firm and tight, while restoring lost collagen which is an important essential for underneath the delicate under eye area. You can either purchase natural vitamin E in a liquid form or a liquid capsule.

Rose Hip Seed Oil

This oil is recognized as one of the richest skincare oils due to containing 80 percent polyunsaturated fatty acids like linoleic and vitamins A and C, it is also rich in omega- 3 fatty acid. Rose hip helps transform skin by decreasing the appearance of scars, reducing wrinkles especially around the eyes and mouth. It increases collagen production by traveling deep into layers of the skin and regenerates cells. This oil is great for dry, mature skin.

Cranberry Seed Oil

This very rich moisturizing oil has one of the highest content of vitamin E and is loaded with antioxidants. It is rich in omega-3 and omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids and is also rich in phytosterols which can actually help stabilize loss of collagen and help boost collagen production.
